Connect the brush to your Dyson using the adaptor, then pick the head your cat's coat needs: the grooming brush for everyday de-shedding, the loose-hair comb for lifting undercoat, or the dematting comb for knots and tangles. As you groom, suction pulls the fur straight into your vacuum, so there's no fur flying around the room and nothing to pick out of the brush afterwards.
The extension hose helps here. It lets you keep the vacuum further away from your cat while you groom, so the noise isn't right next to them. Start slowly: turn the vacuum on in the room for a few minutes without brushing, use the lowest power mode, keep first sessions short, and reward with plenty of treats. Yes, when used correctly. Use your Dyson's lowest power mode, brush in the direction of hair growth, and avoid the face, ears and other sensitive areas. With the dematting comb, work slowly through knots rather than pulling. For severe matting, it's best to see a groomer or vet first.
It clips onto your Dyson's trigger to keep the suction running, so you don't have to hold the trigger down the whole time. That leaves your hand free to steady and comfort your cat, and makes longer grooming sessions much easier.
Most of the fur goes straight into your Dyson, so there's very little to clean. Every so often, remove any hair caught in the grooming heads and wipe them down. Empty the bin more often during grooming season, as cat fur fills it up quickly.
